When immigrants wish to become citizens of the United States, they must go through a process called

naturalization.

As part of that process, they are interviewed by the U.S. Department of Citizenship and Immigration Services. They must correctly answer twelve questions about United States government, history, and culture. The list of questions they can be asked was revised in 2025. The following questions are examples of what they may be asked.
