The Sumerian civilization was located in ancient Mesopotamia. Mesopotamia is the region between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. Today, that area is mostly in the country of Iraq.
The Harappan civilization was located in South Asia, along the Indus River. Today, that area is part of the countries of India and Pakistan.
The Shang Dynasty's civilization was located along the Yellow River, which is also called the Huang He (HWAHNG-huh). The Yellow River flows through East Asia. Today, that area is part of the country of China.
