Christmas is an important Christian holiday. On Christmas, many people celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Christians believe he is the Son of God.

Stories say an angel visited a woman named Mary long ago. The angel told Mary she was going to have a baby. This baby would be named Jesus.

Mary and her husband, Joseph, visited a town called Bethlehem. There were no rooms for them to stay in. So, they slept in a barn where animals lived. While they were there, Jesus was born. Mary and Joseph made a bed for him in a manger. A manger is a tub that animals eat from.

Many people learned about the special new baby. Angels visited some people to tell them the news. Other people saw a bright star in the sky. Three kings followed the star to find baby Jesus. They gave him gifts to celebrate his birth.
