African elephants have long front teeth called tusks. Elephants with longer tusks are often better at fighting. - However,
elephant tusks are the main source for a valuable material called ivory. Illegal hunters called poachers may kill elephants to get tusks for ivory. These poachers are more likely to kill elephants with longer tusks than elephants with shorter tusks.
