Juan is a psychology professor investigating the connection between self-affirmation and academic satisfaction.
He randomly selects two groups of 20 university students. Juan has the students in the first group keep journals of their daily accomplishments, no matter how small. The students in the second group do not keep journals. At the end of one semester, Juan has all 40 students rate how satisfied they are with their education on a scale from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest).
