Roller Coaster Ride

Jaya and Avi looked at the huge roller coaster. "I don't think I want to go on that. Let's go on the water ride instead," Jaya said.

"But this is the best ride in the park," Avi said. Jaya shook her head and pointed to the water ride.

Avi sighed and said, "Well, we need to stay together. So I guess we're going on the water ride."

Jaya looked at her brother's sad face. She said, "Okay. I'll ride the roller coaster with you. Just don't let go of my hand."

Jaya and Avi got on the roller coaster. It started to move. Slowly it climbed higher and higher up the hill. It reached the top and then zoomed back down.

"Wheeeee!" Avi and Jaya yelled as they flew down the track. They threw their arms in the air and laughed.

Up and down the cars raced. Then the ride was over. "What did you think?" Avi asked.

"Let's go again!" said Jaya.

Jane's Flowers

Jane's family was getting ready for the spring fair. Ma was packing food. Pa was getting the horses. Ellie and Abby were picking flowers from a big bush. Jane was the only one who didn't have anything to do.

Jane looked at the ribbon pinned to Abby's dress. They had won it for their flowers at last year's fair. Jane wanted to win again this year.

"Can I help?" Jane asked her sisters.

"We don't need help," Ellie said.

Jane sat on the ground, feeling sad. Then she saw something colorful under the bush next to her.

"Ellie! Abby! Look!" said Jane.

The flowers looked like tiny blue bells. Jane picked some and gave them to Abby. The blue flowers looked pretty mixed with the others.

Abby hugged her little sister. "These are just what we need! Thanks, Jane."

Soon the family climbed into the wagon. Jane sat between her sisters. As they drove to the fair, Jane carefully held the flowers they had all picked together.
