When spelling longer words, it can be helpful to break them into meaningful parts—like prefixes and suffixes.

The prefixes fore-, trans-, super-, and inter- appear at the beginning of words like these:

foresee

transport

supervisor

international

The suffixes -ion and -al appear at the end of words like these:

contribution

financial

To spell, think about each part of the word on its own. Then, put them together.

fore + see → foresee

trans + port → transport

super + visor → supervisor

inter + national → international

financ(e) + al → financial

contribut(e) + ion → contribution

This is the word supervisor. It has the prefix super-.
