Read a text about alternatives to traditional fertilizers.
Traditional pesticides and fertilizers are the clear winners in driving away insects and enriching the soil for healthy crops. However, they often contain harsh chemicals that are dangerous for animals and the environment. As a result, many farmers have started using "green fertilizers," which reduce the impact on the environment and are much safer for everyone's health, including the farmers themselves. These safe alternatives include natural ingredients like crushed shells or even dried blood. Over time, these fertilizers can also improve the quality of the soil, while chemical fertilizers can cause lasting damage to the earth. How do you know which fertilizers are green? Easy! Just look for the labels "organic" or "natural" at the store.
