Dawson Caught a Cold

"Achoo!" Dawson the Dragon sneezes. Orange sparks shoot out of his mouth.

"I must have caught a cold," he says with a frown.

He walks through town to Joy the Fairy's house.

"Can you help me?" he asks.

Joy pulls out her spell book. "Let me read through these," she says. Soon, Joy finds a fix.

"Bring me four bean sprouts and a brown owl's feather. Oh! And a scoop of strawberry ice cream," she tells Dawson.

When Dawson returns, Joy adds the roots and feather to a boiling sauce.

When it cools, she pours the sauce into Dawson's mouth.

Soon, he stops sneezing!

"Thank you! But why did you need ice cream?" he asks.

"That's for us to enjoy now!" Joy laughs, grabbing spoons.

The Gloomy Day

Laura stood at the window, looking at the gloomy weather.

"What should we do today?" she asked her brother, Boyd.

"Let's build a pillow fort!" he said.

"Good idea!" Laura said. She took all the pillows off the couch.

"I'll hold these steady. You spread the blanket over them," she told Boyd.

When the fort was done, Boyd pointed at the opening. "How will we fit? It's so narrow," he said.

Laura paused. "We should fit if we crouch down, then crawl inside," she said.

But as Boyd crawled in, his foot got caught on a pillow.

"Ah!" Boyd shouted as the pillows fell to the ground.

Laura giggled. "Well, now our fort has a bigger door," she said.

What do Laura and Boyd need to do to enter the fort?
