Jade on the Tight Rope

"Mom, look!" Cole calls out when he comes home from school. "Jade the Tight Rope Walker is in the new show," he says. "Can we go see it?"

Cole hands Mom a flyer. She reads it and agrees.

Later that week Mom and Cole arrive at the show and take their seats. The people cheer, and a beam of light shines right on Jade.

"She's so high up! I can't even see her face," says Cole.

Jade strikes a pose and then waves to the people below. She slowly makes her way across the rope. When she is in the middle, she leaves the rope and dives into a pool of water!

"Whoa!" says Cole. "I love this show!"

Ice Cream Float

Weasel and Goose head home after a fun day at the pool.

"This heat makes me want something cold to eat," says Goose.

"Do you want to know how to make the best treat?" Weasel asks. "It's called an ice cream float."

Goose nods.

Weasel says, "My dad showed me how to make one all on my own!" He grabs ice cream and root beer to make a float. He adds both to a glass.

"Try it and tell me what you think," Weasel says.

Goose takes a sip, then scrunches up her face. "Too fizzy for me," she says. Goose scoops ice cream into a bowl and grabs a spoon. "I can't lie," she says. "I like just the ice cream alone."
