The Prune
Clive the fruit fly flies over a vine. Kyle the fruit bat glides by. They both spot one ripe prune under a pine tree.
Clive dives first. "This prune is mine! Don't even try!" he cries.
Kyle lands softly. "That prune looks ripe. Just the way I like it."
Clive says, "Fine. Let's slice it and share."
"But we don't have a knife," says Kyle.
Clive pulls a twig from the pine. "This will do the trick!" he says. He tries and tries, but the twig just bends.
Kyle smiles. "Let's just try a bite."
Clive agrees.
They each take a bite. The prune is chewy and sweet. Clive grins. "This is quite nice."
How does Kyle the fruit bat like his prunes?
He likes them to be ripe.
He likes them to be hard.
