The Queen and the Toad

A queen sits by a stream and reads. She hears a croak. She sees a green toad. He looks sad.

"Why are you sad?" asks the queen.

"I don't know how to read," says the toad.

"I can teach you," says the queen. The toad jumps for joy. The toad wants to thank the queen. But, how can he?

"I know! I can teach you how to croak!" says the toad.

"It's a deal!" says the queen.

Beach Day

Beth and her dog are at the beach. Beth smells the clean air. The sand feels good on her feet.

She lets her dog off his leash. They play on the beach with a green ball.

Beth falls down and gets sand in her hair. "Look at me!" yells Beth. "I feel like a sand queen!" Her dog runs over and licks her face. Beth grins as she gets up.

"Okay, let's play some more!" she says.
