Sea Song

Finn is a whale. He loves to sing. He wants to sing with four whales called the Whale Tails. The Whale Tails sing in shows.

Finn sings for the four whales. "Wooo, wooo, wooo," he sings.

But the other whales tell Finn no. There is no place for him in their show.

Finn sadly swims away.

Why is Finn sad?

The Whale Tails can't hear him sing his song.

He does not like to sing his songs in shows.

He will not be singing with the Whale Tails.

Ice Skating Day

Behind the barn, there was a lake. Nate the duck ran to look at it.

"Yay! The water is all ice," he said. "Can I go ice skating?" he asked his mother.

Mother tested the ice. It was hard and safe. Nate could skate!

Nate put on his skates. He skated from one side of the ice to the other. He went very fast.

How does Nate know he can skate on the lake?

He just got new skates.

The ice is hard and safe.

The sun is very bright.

The story says, "Mother tested the ice. It was hard and safe. Nate could skate!" This tells you how Nate knows he can skate on the lake.
